Risk Analysis: Are You Prioritizing Right?

The Proactive Risk PM Weekly

Proactive Over Reactive. Always.

Reader,

Last week we identified our risks. Now, we need to start analyzing them for the probability they will happen and the impact they will have on our projects.

Domain III of the PMI-RMP® Exam Content Outline is Risk Analysis, where we start developing the prioritized list of risks for our project!

PMI-RMP® Exam Content Outline:

Domain III: Risk Analysis

To ensure we are attacking the right risks, we need a prioritized list of risks to manage!
In this video, I go over:

  • Qualitative Risk Analysis
  • Quantitative Risk Analysis
  • Managing Threats and Opportunities

Your Takeaway:
Qualitative risk analysis is where you do a quickly look at your risks and do a probability/impact analysis. While Quantitative risk analysis is where you dive deeper through a mathematical evaluation on the overall impact the risks will have on your project.

The goal is to understand what risks you need to focus on now vs. which ones you can wait and solve later down the road.
